Mike Barclift

Mike Barclift is a North Carolina native, raised in an Air Force military family. He spent much of his early years living in different locations in the U.S. and overseas in the U.K. Mike attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, graduating in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He began his 21-year career as a Surface Warfare Officer deploying worldwide, serving in various ships and staff assignments. After retiring from active duty service, he immediately entered the financial services profession and has been in continuous practice since then as a Financial Advisor.

Mike is married to his wife Jane, who also served with distinction as a naval officer for over 26 years. They make their home in the West Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk, Virginia, where they have resided for more than 25 years. Their son Cameron is a graduate of Tufts University and works as a software engineer and team lead.

Mike is an avid recreational sailor and skier. He also enjoys playing volleyball and golf with friends and colleagues, reading military history, and staying involved in the local community.
